The

Invites you to apply to the 2010 Minority Fellows Program

in Chicago, IL

The Minority Fellows Program will host a three-day training session (May 1-3, 2010) in Chicago immediately prior to the annual Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Convention (May 3-6, 2010), an international gathering of top researchers and industry leaders.

The Fellows Program will provide post baccalaureate students, postdoctoral and early career scientists with the opportunity to explore careers in biotechnology and associated industries. Fellows will engage in rigorous professional development training in areas such as emerging technologies, industrial entrepreneurship, and career-building skills, including interviewing techniques and resume writing.

In addition, each Fellow participant will be matched with an industry mentor (mentor selections are made prior to the Annual BIO Convention) who is expected to participate actively in the Fellows Program and BIO convention events. Mentors are also encouraged to provide Fellows with courtesy introductions to colleagues and leaders attending BIO 2010. Fellows will receive lodging, meals and complementary registration for the 2010 Minority Fellows Program and for BIO and be reimbursed up to $350 in travel costs.

If reimbursement causes a hardship, please contact Elisabeth Freeman (efreeman@biotechinstitute.org).

Please note that by applying to the Minority Fellows Program, all participants give permission for photos, and other program information, to be used for Fellows Program promotional purposes
